Protect and preserve the few remaining horses descendant from Trail of Tears Indian Ponies. This critically endangered, genetically unique breed, originated from Spanish Conquistadors and is now the Heritage Horse of Oklahoma. They are also known as the Spanish Mustangs of Blackjack Mountain; Colonial Spanish Horses. Cherokee, Chickasaw, and Choctaw Ponies are included as well as other Tribal Horses. This breed immortalized the Pony Express and starred in the movie "Hidalgo"!
